Privacy notice.

Last updated 11 September 2026.

RecoverQ ("we", "us") runs the website at recoverq.com and the RecoverQ app at recoverq.com/app. This notice explains what personal information we collect, why, who sees it, and what your rights are. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who is responsible

RecoverQ is a business operated by Mohammed Bilal Asif, who is the data controller for the information described in this notice. Contact us at hello@recoverq.com and we will reply to any privacy question within one month. If RecoverQ is later incorporated as a company, the company name, number and registered address will replace this and the date above will change.

If you use the map to find an operator

No account, no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email address or any details to use the map.

Your phone number is never shared. You call the operator from your own phone. RecoverQ does not collect your number and does not pass it to any operator.

Your location. If you allow it, your phone's location is used on your own device to show how far away each operator is. It is not sent to any operator, and not stored by us, until you choose to give an operator your six-digit code. Giving the code shares your exact location with that operator, for that job only, and the operator's live position is shared with you in return. When the job ends, the sharing stops. If you prefer not to share location at all, you can type a postcode instead. The website's map does not ask for your location — it shows totals by area only.

The job record. When an operator accepts your code we keep a record of the job (time, approximate location, operator, outcome) for six months, for safety, disputes and reviews, then delete or anonymise it.

Reviews. If you rate an operator after a completed job, the rating and any comment are checked by our team before they count. The public sees only the average star rating and number of reviews, never your comment or anything that identifies you.

Calls and payment. We do not record, route or listen to calls, and we do not handle, see or store any payment.

If you are an operator

To be listed you give us your name, contact details, driving licence number, company registration number and, where required, Operator's Licence number; photographs of your driving licence and of you holding it; your insurance certificate; and for each vehicle its registration, VIN, mileage and photographs. These are used only to verify you and are seen only by our admin team. They are kept while you are listed and for twelve months after, in case of a dispute or a regulator's request, then deleted.

While you are online your position is sent to us every few seconds and shown on the public map rounded to roughly 100 metres. During an accepted job your exact position is shared with that customer. Your position is not stored as a history.

Your business name, vehicle type, average rating and approximate position are public while you are live. Your phone number is shown to a customer only when they choose to call you.

We email you to verify your login (six-digit codes), about your application and listing, and for password resets. We record the device you are signed in on so that one account is used on one phone at a time.

Where information is kept and who sees it

Our database and file storage are provided by Supabase and hosted in London, United Kingdom. Emails are sent through Resend. The website and app are hosted by Hostinger. Map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap and fonts by Google Fonts; when a page loads, those providers receive your IP address in the ordinary way any web request does. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.

We share information with the police or a regulator when the law requires it, and with our insurers or advisers if there is a dispute.

Cookies

See our cookies page. The website sets no advertising or analytics cookies; the app stores only what it needs on your device to work.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email hello@recoverq.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
