How it works

Three taps to a driver.

Built for the moment you are stood at the roadside, so nothing gets in the way.

1

See who is near you

Allow location or type a postcode. The map shows every driver live nearby and how many miles away each one is.

2

Call the driver

Tap Call and speak to them directly. Agree the price between you before they set off.

3

Watch them arrive

Give the driver your six-digit code and follow them on the map, with a live arrival time, until they reach you.

Why people trust it

A live map only works if it is true.

So we check every driver, and the map only ever shows drivers who are actually out.

Checked before they go live

Driving licence, photo ID, insurance certificate and photographs of every truck, reviewed by our team. Nobody appears on the map until they pass.

Real positions, right now

Drivers share their position while they work. If a truck is on the map, it is out and reachable — not a listing last updated years ago.

Reviews that are checked

Only customers who completed a job can leave a rating, and each one is looked at before it counts.

The price is yours to agree

We are not in the middle of the payment. No commission, no booking fee, no membership — which is also why it stays cheaper than cover.

Breaking down on the M8: what to do, and what happens next

The M8 is unusual: it runs straight through the middle of Glasgow rather than around it, with junctions sometimes only a few hundred metres apart and slip roads that give you almost no distance to react. Recovery is often quick because operators are close, but the road itself gives you very little room.

Through Glasgow and the Kingston Bridge

Short slips, dense traffic and little hard shoulder. If the car will still move, take the next slip road.

Between Glasgow and Edinburgh

Open motorway with proper hard shoulders. A much easier place to break down.

The Edinburgh end

Connects to the M9 and the city bypass, with the usual interchange traffic.

Junction numbering

The junctions through the city are very close together, so name the one you last passed.

Worth knowing. In the city section the junction you last passed is the only quick way to be found.
Questions

Before you call.

Get everyone out of the vehicle and behind the barrier if it is safe to do so, and stand well away from the traffic. On a smart motorway with no hard shoulder, use an emergency refuge area if you can reach one. If you are in a live lane and cannot get out safely, stay belted in with hazard lights on and call 999. Once you are safe, open the map and call a driver.

Yes, where they are insured and equipped to do so. Drivers along the M8 recover from the hard shoulder, refuge areas and services every day. If National Highways attend first they may move you to a safe place, from where any driver on the map can collect you.

You agree the price with the driver on the phone before they set off. RecoverQ adds nothing to it — no booking fee, no commission and no membership.

No. Open the map, see who is live, and call. If the driver takes the job you get a six-digit code and can watch them on their way.

Drivers along the M8 cover Edinburgh, Livingston, Bathgate, Harthill, Airdrie, Coatbridge, Glasgow, Renfrew and Paisley, and the roads that feed onto the motorway.
